Monstera acacoyaguensis

Native to Southern Mexico (Chiapas) to Belize, below 200 meters elevation

Monstera acacoyaguensis is a tropical epiphytic plant with distinct growth phases. Juvenile plants grow as terrestrial creepers, transforming into climbing epiphytes upon finding support. Adults feature large ovate leaves (60-85 cm long) with numerous mid-rib-originating fenestrations that curl upward, smooth green petioles (40-65 cm long), and a leathery texture. Notable for its exceptionally persistent light yellow spathe (25-35 cm tall) that lasts up to 20 days and its unique adaptation to full sunlight conditions - a rarity among Monsteras.
